What is Lifepac?
"LIFEPAC [published by Alpha Omega Publications] is a full-color, consumable worktext homeschool curriculum with Bible-based content for grades K-12. Designed by a team of accomplished educators with years of classroom experience, LIFEPAC is based on the principle of mastery learning. Students master content in each unit worktext before progressing to the next. Ten LIFEPAC worktexts provide one full year of learning content per grade level; individual worktexts can also be used as supplemental material. In addition, you can mix and match subjects or grade level worktexts to personalize your student's curriculum content. Individual worktexts take approximately 3 to 4 weeks to complete.
Your child will love this motivating homeschool curriculum which will gives a sense of accomplishment as each worktext is completed. LIFEPAC worktexts include engaging lessons, activities, review questions, and tests. This best-selling homeschool curriculum offers five core subjects and a wide variety of electives. Scripture passages are integrated throughout worktexts to help students connect daily learning to biblical truth. Independent projects and activities help stimulate creativity and reinforce concepts. Parents can easily track progress with self-tests and teacher checkpoints."

What is the difference between a Lifepac worktext and regular textbook?
Lifepac worktexts are a workbook combined with a textbook. The student reads the material and then writes in that same book. Each full year subject has 10 worktexts, and each 1/2 year subject typically has 5 worktexts. Textbooks are heavier, the student does not write in them, and they are generally not broken up into several different books.
How many worktexts are there per subject?
The program has a teacher mode, which contains all of the answers and teacher tips, and it is password protected. The teacher mode is where you can modify settings and check the grades. The student mode is where the student logs in to do their work, and they do not have access to the answers.
How much time should my student spend a on worktext?
The Lifepac curriculum is designed for your student to work at their own pace. However, in order them to finish the material by the end of the school year, we recommend finishing a worktext every 18 days (3-4 weeks). 10 units X 18 days = 180 school year
What do the teacher's guides contain?
Lifepac teacher guides contain answers, teaching tips, and activities to go along with the lessons. The 1st grade teacher guide's have detailed step by step instructions, while the 2nd-12th grade teacher guide's do not cover the same amount of detail. We do recommend the use of teacher guides for the Lifepac series as they:
1. Save time in grading
2. Provide valuable insight into using the Lifepac curriculum
3. Assist you your ability to answer questions for your student.
Is the content from Lifepac the same as Switched-on Schoolhouse?
Switched-on Schoolhouse was based off of the Lifepac series and has since then been updated. The scope & sequence of both Lifepac and Switched-on Schoolhouse line up nicely, so transfering between Lifepac and Switched-on Schoolhouse works out well.
Can I use Lifepac with Switched-on Schoolhouse at the same time?
We do not recommend using Lifepac with Switched-on Schoolhouse. Switched-on Schoolhouse was based off of the Lifepac series and has since then been updated. The lessons will not always line up, and often the questions are different.
Do I have to buy all 5 subjects?
You may purchase each subject individually. Each subject will come with an installation disk.
What does "student driven" mean?
The lessons are designed for students to work independently of parent instruction. There are no set times for lecture, but instead parents are encouraged to answer student questions and keep them on track.
How much testing does Lifepac have?
Lifepac usually has 3-4 self-tests (similar to quizzes) per unit. Lifepac has 1 test per unit, which is the middle of the book. This test is meant to be ripped out of the worktext before the student begins taking the unit, and then it is to be administered by the parent when the student has completed the unit.
Is Lifepac accredited?
Curriculum itself can not be accredited. The institution that keeps track of your grading are the one's to ask. Accredidation is not necessarily important, depending on your circumstances.
Is Lifepac challenging?
Lifepac makes use of critical thinking in the way that it answer's questions. You can be assured that your student is receiving quality Christian curriculum. However, the scope & sequence is not as challenging as some advanced curriculum options on the market. Lifepac uses mastery based learning which works well for students who need the extra practice to pick up a concept.
